Jornadas Alarconianas Juan Ruiz de Alarcon was a former play writer born in the city of Taxco, which honors him with a drama award that bears his name. The so called Jornadas Alarconianas eventually became a cultural festival . During the event not only is given the important Prix Juan Ruiz de Alarcon, there are also guest artists, jazz and rock performances. Over time, the public has grown from tens of thousands, being one of the most renowned cultural events.
